Become a coach with Grand Island Soccer Club
Grand Island Soccer Club is looking for volunteer recreational and travel coaches.
As a volunteer coach, you will be:
- Offered training to help you gain age-appropriate coaching knowledge and skills
- Reimbursed for all coaching education
- Provided all equipment and coaching materials
- Supported by our club’s Board of Directors
- Required to pass a background check for safety measures
While having coaching experience and soccer knowledge is beneficial, it’s not a requirement. You can have a fulfilling volunteer experience and be an asset to our club by having:

- A positive attitude

Why volunteer?
Our club strives to provide soccer opportunities for players to develop at their own pace in a safe, fun, supportive, and inclusive environment. As an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, volunteers are appreciated and needed to make our club the terrific success it is.
What are the coach’s responsibilities?
Coaches participate on game days, hold team practices, teach game fundamentals, communicates with the team players and parents, and help players develop good sportsmanship.
What are the assistant coach’s responsibilities?
Assistant coaches assist the coach at practices and games, and stand in for the coach when necessary.
What is the time commitment?
Summer program (head and assistant coaches): 7-8 weeks, ~20 hours
Travel program (head and assistant coaches): 40 weeks, ~120-160 hours
